Snowmen, Gingerbread men and Pirates.. oh my!!!

Wow, what a busy day we have had!!!!!!

First, we made snowmen out of water bottles! These are quick and easy to do! Here is a picture of them!

To make these cuties:
1. wash and dry out plastic water bottles (one for each child)
2. Squirt white acrylic paint into the bottle. Squirt until the bottle is about 1/4 full.
3. Put cap on bottle and have the students shake their bottles until all sides are covered with paint.
4. Give the children a black sharpie for the eyes, mouth and  buttons. Give them an orange sharpie for the nose.
5. Cut strips of fabric as long as the bottle and tie it around the bottle and tie into a knot. This is the scarf. Make sure it is between the mouth and the buttons.

The snowman is complete!

Then after we made these cuties, we had an awesome set of parents come in and help make applesauce ornaments. To make these, you will need: 3/4 cups of applesauce, 1 small bottle of cinnamon (4.2 oz). This makes 12 ornaments. Double it for a class set. Stir ingredients in a bowl until a ball forms. Then place between two pieces of wax paper and roll out until it is 1/4 inch thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out ornaments. Take straws and place them where you would like the hole to insert ribbon for hanging. Let dry for 3-4 days.

Here are our Gingerbread Ornaments!

To end our awesome time with our parent volunteers, Mr. T read the kindergators the book, Pirates Twelve Days of Christmas. The kids loved this story! Thanks for reading it to us, Mr. T!

Tomorrow, we are doing Polar Express! I will post about that tomorrow!!!
