A week of Abraham Lincoln!

This is my favorite time of year to teach! I love teaching my kindergators about American History especially about our 16th President Abraham Lincoln. This post is going to be a long one and also a link to the linky party, Monday Made It  hosted by 4th Grade Frolics!

So let's begin with what we did on Monday with Abraham Lincoln! We are going to call our Monday

We started off our Monday, by singing the song, my amazing student teacher taught the students when she was here at the beginning of the year! I just made this slide to share it with you. Click on the slide for the link to download this if you would like!

We read a Lincoln book

and talked bout what we know and what we learned. We then did our follow me activity for Abraham Lincoln!  Here they are:

Here is a sample of Lincoln writing!

For Math, we made a life size Abraham Lincoln and measured him with snap cubes and then we compared our height to his. He was 126 snap cubes tall!

Then we made our hallway display!

This was all on Monday!!!!!

Here is the rest of our week of Abraham Lincoln activities!!

We drew Lincoln and measured our drawings with snap cubes and recorded them!

Click on the picture below to download the measuring paper to attach to your lincoln pictures for a measuring activity!
We read lots of books!!

We celebrated his birthday on Wednesday by making hats and reading emergent readers and watching a movie from my president padlet. The link for the padlet is below!
