Do You Gonoodle?!

How are you? I hope you are resting and relaxing! I thought I would just blog about one of my very favorite sites to use in my classroom!!!!

I love Gonoodle!  I know many use it just to get the wiggles out of their kids but it is so much more!

I love to teach ELA, Social Studies and Science using Blazer Fresh!! Their videos are both entertaining and educational! From Don’t Read Like A Robot to Road Trippin USA, BlazerFresh and Gonoodle provide our students with a tool to increase their skills and love for these subjects!!!!! They also get to show off their fresh dance moves!!

Another great part of Gonoodle that focuses on academics as well is Gonoodle Plus!

This is a paid section but well worth the 10 dollars a month! You are able to create your own questions about anything you are learning and want to review or reinforce! The videos and games in Gonoodle Plus take your questions and include them in the videos! Through movement, your kids learn the skills and review the important concepts!! They love this and they learn without knowing they learn which makes it even better! Who doesn’t want to have fun at school!!!

Another awesome section in Gonoodle is Moosetube!!!!

My kiddos and I absolutely love this channel!!! The moose cracks us up!!! The songs are fun, the dances are silly and the experience is memorable!!! Our absolute favorite is......

But I use it in my room more then just movement videos!! I take the champs and I display them on the smartboard! My kiddos then will write adjectives to describe them. Then they would take their champ and write a narrative story about them!

For math, my kiddos will do math Word problems and solve them using counters I made from the champ clip art. We also would work on more or less when or champ goes into the transmorgifer! 

Then finally there is the Gonoodle shop!!!!

A GoNoodle kind of day

Can I just say, I love, love, love Classdojo and GoNoodle !! Separate they are amazing but together!!!!! Omg, they are awesome!!! 

At the beginning of the year, we as a class, sit down and talk about goals for behavior! We create the positives and negatives for Classdojo and we choose what they would like as the ultimate reward! 

They chose a GoNoodle day! I was ecstatic because my love for GoNoodle has transferred into all of my students!!! 

So they worked and worked and worked to meet their goal and when they did you would have thought they won the lottery! 

It was finally here! GoNoodle day !!!

I made a smart board sign to display throughout the day! They all got a GoNoodle t shirt that I made (thanks to the help of our awesome and patient staff center secretary and awesome mother of one of the little girls in my class), pencils and stickers! You would have thought they all received the best present in the world! I bought the pencils and stickers from the GoNoodle store! This is an awesome place to visit to get your GoNoodle necessities!!!

We took pictures and we did GoNoodle word searches, coloring sheets, writing activity about which GoNoodle champ they would be and why, and many directed drawings of various champs!

2015 in review

I can not believe that 2015 will soon come to an end! It has been an adventure. I have had 2 awesome student teachers, 2 amazing first grade classes, have had so many experiences that I will always remember as well as the opportunity to make new friends.

GoNoodle's Back to School Blogger Blitz!

I am very excited about this school year! I am a firm believer that movement and physical activity is vital for student success! That is why I love GoNoodle!

My students will begin and end every day this year with Maximo. This is a daily part of our Morning Meeting and our closing circle! I feel it is important for them to start and end the day with a little Yoga, cool down and calming activity as well as physical activity. 

I am really excited about the project that I have created and plan on doing using one of our favorite GoNoodle heroes, Freckles! To increase the writing skills and reading skills of my students, I have created a Flat Freckles unit. This is based on the same idea as Flat Stanley. I wrote a book and created a writing journal for the kids to write in about their adventures with Flat Freckles. I also have enlisted about 30 classrooms around the United States who would like to take part in this activity! We are so excited to begin this adventure!!!!

Of course, I will also be using GoNoodle throughout the day, to keep those brain juices flowing!!!!

I already posted earlier about how I incorporate the GoNoodle heroes in my Math and ELA lessons!

Creative Teaching Press, GoNoodle and Class Dojo: A Recipe for a Happy Classroom!

I love the products from Creative Teaching Press! They make such a wonderful addition to any classroom. They add color! They add pizzazz! They just add happiness!

So, here it is another school year! I have been moved again this year to a different classroom and I thought OK This is a blessing in disguise. Now i can make my room just the way i want it because I am essentially starting with a clean slate!

Here I used the paint chip border from Creative Teaching Press to outline the Critics Corner in my reading area!
