Polar Express Day
The last day before we leave for Christmas break, I always do polar express day! We wear our pajamas, have hot cocoa, candy canes and watch the movie!! Love this day!!!

Grinch Day 2018
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! I love this time of year with my kiddos!! It is so much fun and they get to see us in a different light!!

I take green bulletin board paper and cover their lockers!! I write You have been Grinched! And this year I added a giant grinch head!!

Years ago, I painted this grinch terra cota pot! Inside it I put their “grinchies” (treats) from the grinch! I also place this letter to them from the grinch with the grinchies!

I take away all the pencils in the classroom! I go through desks and all of the possible hiding places and removed all the lead pencils! I replaced them with green colored pencils! I put them in a grinch container I made and placed a letter from the grinch with the pencils!!

For curriculum, we read the book and talk about the central message, story elements and make text to self connections! We also review adjectives and describe the grinch! Click below for the link to the book (in case you do not have it!)

Here is what the pictures will look like!

Aren’t they adorable!!!

Happy Grinch Day from our little family to yours!!

So I have to say by far Grinch Day is one of my utmost favorite days in December with my kids!!! First the set up!!

Throughout the years, I have gathered and made grinch items! I always add one or two new things each year!! Yo finish off my set up, I just place Grinch items throughout the room!
For curriculum, we read the book and talk about the central message, story elements and make text to self connections! We also review adjectives and describe the grinch! Click below for the link to the book (in case you do not have it!)
There is an awesome app that you can download onto your phone and it turns your kids into the grinch!!

Aren’t they adorable!!!
We also make grinch ornaments! We take the clear plastic ornaments from michaels. They come 25 to a container. I got them for 60 percent off so it cost me 8.00. I used bright green tempera paint and red glitter heart stickers.
Place done green paint inside the ornament and have the kids move the ornament around and tap it lightly until the entire ornament is green on the inside! Then give them a heart to place on their ornament! I have my ids write with black sharpie Happy Grinchmas with the year!
Happy Grinch Day from our little family to yours!!

Llama Directed Drawing Family Gift
It is that time of year again when we must come up with the perfect parent gift for our kiddos to make and give to their parents for the holidays. Can I just say, the pressure is real!!!

Anyways, I found the perfect gift that is both easy and inexpensive!!!!
I found 6 x 6 white ceramic tiles. I got these at Home Depot for only .49 cents a piece.
Then I gathered all of my sharpies and since I am a school supply junkie I had sooooooo many sharpies! My kiddos used these to draw and decorate their llamas. I chose llamas because that is my favorite animal and everything in my classroom is llamas! You can choose anything at all. That’s what makes this gift so versatile! It can be made for any holiday or occasion!
I drew the llama step by step and they followed me. They used marker only because pencil will not show up on the tile.
Here are some of their finished presents!!!
Aren’t they stinking cute!!!! And to finish the project, after they dried I sprayed them with modge podge to seal them! You can purchase it at michaels for $8.00. It lasts forever! I am on year 4 with the same can. If you use their coupons, you can spend as little as $4.00 for the can! Click below for the link!

National Candy Corn Day
October is National Candy Corn Day! So of course, we had to learn about candy corn!

We read a nonfiction emergent reader about candy corn!

Of course, we had to do candy corn adjectives! They then write about candy corn!

To wrap up our unit, they all made candy corn to bring home! Of course, we tasted the real stuff as well!!!

A Charlie Brown Valentine
Love is in the air! Love is in my classroom! February is such a short month but it is such an important month!

In their buckets were Charlie Brown pencils, erasers and crayons!!! They loved these!!!!

My firsties love to learn and they love to get to experience new things! For Valentine’s Day I transformed our room into a Charlie Brown valentine!
At this age they love to make crowns to wear and make their valentine day boxes! I love the Charlie Brown collection from oriental Trading!
What I loved about the crowns were they had adhesive on them so my kiddos could do them on their own! No staple needed! Win win situation today!!!!!!!
Here they are all completed! They are soooo cute!!!
Don’t you love the valentine card boxes!!!!!!!! These are so amazing and it makes it so easy for them to pass out the Valentine’s and bring them home!!
They made Charlie Brown character lollipops!!
The lollipops were the heart lollipops from oriental Trading! The Charlie Brown lollipop pieces were also from there!
They went Gaga over the valentine treat bucket! This was at each seat and it was their materials for the day! They then took them home!
In their buckets were Charlie Brown pencils, erasers and crayons!!! They loved these!!!!
Of course, I had to make a photo booth! Snoopy table cloth hanging on the wall with a snoopy be mine sign and snoopy cut outs hung around! There was also a giant snoopy stand up!
So this is how my Classroom looked for Valentine’s Day!
I love how oriental Trading has all that I need!
I am a blogger with oriental Trading and I receive materials in return for my honest reviews! These opinions are my own and are not impacted by any other entity!
