Mindfulness and Class Dojo!

Hello all! As you all know I am a class dojo fanatic! I love class dojo! They have been such an amazing group that want to make things better in the classroom for both students and teachers. Their goal is to increase communication between home and school and also to teach the kids about important concepts that will help shape them into productive members of society!

They have worked with both Harvard and Yale to create video series that help mold out students!

Well.......Today is the day that a new video series is available!! They have brought us videos on growth mindset, perseverance, Empathy, gratitude  and now...............

MINDFULNESS!!!!!!!!!

What is mindfulness? Mindfulness isnunderstandingnwhat is happening right now! It is understanding how and why your body is feeling at the time! You are noticing what is going on around you.

As usual they have a video, discussion questions and activity! I can not wait to share this today with my kids!!!

I can not wait to see what mojo and his friends have to say about mindfulness! So click on the picture  below to see the new video!!!!!!!!

Thank you class dojo for once again listening to us and giving us what we asked for!!!!!

Voting: Mojo or Katie for Class President!

It is that time of year when we are to vote for our President of the United States. I will have to admit, I was a little nervous about teaching this this year because of the deep feelings for the candidates!

So I made the decision that I was going to focus on the election process and just announce the new President!

So what did we vote for??

As you all know, I am in love with Class Dojo! So Mojo and Katie were running for class President!

The kids heard their two platforms and had to think about what they heard. They then had the opportunity to place their vote.

They all received a ballot and were to fill it out and place it in the ballot box!

They loved this! Check them out!!!

So after their votes were cast, we added up the results and guess who is our new Class President????????????

It is Mojo!!!!!!

This was truly loved by them!

Class Dojo Does It Again!!!

I am so excited to be able to share this information with you! Class Dojo has done it again!

First, they make the first 5 Growth Mindset Videos and then Series 2 and now...... Wait for it..........

A new video series on EMPATHY!!!!!! I am so excited!! My kiddos love the Mojo videos and I am so glad that they will be focusing on Empathy. This is something I feel is needed because many of our students today do not feel empathy at all. They do not even know what it is.

What better way to get our kiddos to understand Empathy then to have the beloved Mojo and Katie educate them!!

This new series will be out on October 2 but you can view the trailer below!!!!!

Thank you +ClassDojo for always listening to teachers and providing us with things we need to have successful classroom environment!

Growth Mindset and Class Dojo

OMG!!!! Can I just say that Class Dojo is getting more and more amazing as the year progresses!!!!! First, they give us Class Story, then Dojo Translate, then the ability to upload videos to our class story and now......... drum roll please!!!!................

Growth Mindset!!!!

Today, marks the unveiling of the first of 5 movies on growth mindset! I love this for the classroom!

Click on Mojo below to see some  information on the class dojo website!

Here is a snippet of the press release Class Dojo has put together and released!

Today ClassDojo and Stanford University’s Project for Education Research That Scales (PERTS) announced a partnership to help millions of students learn about ‘growth mindset’ in their classrooms. As part of this partnership, ClassDojo developed a five-part series of animated videos that will be available free to all teachers. It is the first in ClassDojo’s “Big Ideas” series, where ClassDojo will bring cutting-edge research into the classroom -- with characters that students know and love. The idea of growth mindset, researched and popularized by Professor Carol Dweck and colleagues at Stanford University, is the notion that intelligence and abilities can be developed over time. The opposite is a ‘fixed’ mindset, which is the belief that these abilities are innate and can’t change. Research has shown that when students possess a growth mindset, and see challenge as an opportunity to learn, they are more likely to persevere when faced with setbacks. “When children believe their abilities are tied to things they can’t change, the windows of opportunity surrounding them shut one by one,” said Dave Paunesku, executive director of Stanford PERTS. “ClassDojo’s reach and mission to help teachers, parents, and students transform education from the ground up made it the natural partner for us to share this concept with teachers at a massive scale.”

I know I am super excited about this and can not wait to share this with my kids and with the other teachers at my school!

Thank you Class Dojo for once again going above and beyond to provide educators with so many important tools they can use in the classroom!!!!

Class Dojo Translate!

Once again, the amazing @ClassDojo masterminds have listened to us and have given us another feature that will set ClassDojo apart from the others!

Starting today, we now have ClassDojo translate!

Now every post we make can be translated by our students family with just a push of the button on their end! How amazing and helpful is that!!!!! At this time, this feature is only available on the web. It will be coming to Android and IOS devices in the near future!

Family engagement is a main focus of ClassDojo and teachers everywhere! This feature is one that is needed and will definitely improve communication between families and classrooms around the world!

I am so glad because I have a student whose family does not speak English well and this will definitely be a way to bridge the communication gap!!!

Another improvement that will help educators share #classdojolove

Thank you, ClassDojo!!!

Class Dojo does it again!!!!!

I know you have heard this over and over again but I loooove  +ClassDojo! They are amazing!! We, meaning teachers, ask for changes and additions and they do whatever they can to accommodate us! What other company does that!!!!!!!!!

First, they add groups! What a lifesaver!!!

Then they add Class Story! Love this and so does the parents! This is a great way to keep parents informed!!!!

Now they add.........

BRAND NEW USER FRIENDLY AND MORE POSITIVE ICONS for behavior!!!

These icons are for both positive and needs work areas! There are no longer red and green ones. The only thing that is red and green are the circles the points are in! I love this! This makes it an even more positive experience!

So thank you Class Dojo! Thank you for listening!!! Thank you for all of these awesome additions! and mostly thank you for my Mojo!!!! I just love him!!!!!
